Mumbai is expected to witness generally cloudy skies with occasional spells of light to moderate rain in the city and its suburbs on Thursday, according to the weather forecast issued at 8 am.
The forecast indicates intermittent rainfall activity across Mumbai and its suburban areas through the day. Residents have been advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly while commuting.
The city is expected to experience a high tide of 4.15 metres at 11.45 am on Thursday. Another high tide, measuring 3.82 metres, is forecast at 11.50 pm.
The low tide is expected at 5.47 pm, with the sea level projected to fall to 1.44 metres.
The next low tide is scheduled for 5.35 am on August 28, with a projected height of 0.80 metres.
Mumbai recorded relatively low rainfall during the 24-hour period from 8 am on August 26 to 8 am on August 27.
The city area received 2.53 mm of rainfall during the period, while the eastern suburbs recorded 3.46 mm. The western suburbs received 1.92 mm of rainfall.
Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness generally cloudy skies on Thursday, with the possibility of very light to light rainfall during the morning and forenoon, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum temperature across the region is likely to remain between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad are likely to experience similar weather conditions, with intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of light showers.
The IMD said rainfall in some areas could be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Commuters have been advised to exercise caution, as wet and slippery roads could affect traffic movement in several parts of Delhi-NCR.
Delhi witnessed light to moderate rainfall at most places and moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated locations on Wednesday. The rainfall was accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.
Several parts of Delhi-NCR recorded significant rainfall during the period. Pusa received 51.1 mm of rain, while Pitampura recorded 64.5 mm. Mayur Vihar registered 12 mm of rainfall.
Meanwhile, Noida is likely to witness partly cloudy to sunny conditions during the day, with the possibility of a thunderstorm in the morning. Humidity may add to the discomfort despite the intermittent cloud cover. The broader monsoon activity is expected to remain active across Uttar Pradesh.
