Mumbai and its suburbs are expected to experience a partly cloudy sky with occasional spells of light to moderate rainfall, according to the weather forecast issued at 8 am on Saturday.

High tide expected at 12:37 pm

A high tide of 4.39 metres is expected at 12:37 pm on August 29. The next high tide, measuring 4.20 metres, is forecast at 12:58 am on August 30.

The low tide is expected at 6:46 pm on August 29, with the sea level projected to reach 0.93 metres. Another low tide of 0.85 metres is expected at 6:34 am on August 30.

Light rainfall recorded across Mumbai

Mumbai recorded relatively light rainfall during the 24-hour period between 8 am on August 28 and 8 am on August 29.

The city recorded an average rainfall of 0.88 mm, while the eastern suburbs received 2.55 mm and the western suburbs recorded 1.43 mm during the period.

Cloudy skies in Delhi; no rain likely this weekend

Meanwhile, the National Capital saw a slight dip in the minimum temperature on Saturday, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted cloudy skies for the day.

Safdarjung, representative of the city's weather, recorded a minimum temperature of 27.7 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees above the normal and a 0.1 degree decrease from a day before.

Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees lower than the day before; Lodhi Road recorded a minimum of 26.6 degrees Celsius; Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 26.9 degrees, a 0.2 degree decrease from the day before.

The IMD has forecast cloudy skies for Saturday, with similar weather conditions expected to continue into Sunday.

"Cloudy skies are expected to persist throughout the day. No rain has been forecast for the weekend," said an IMD official.

According to the IMD forecast, the maximum is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, the air quality index (AQI) of the city remained in the "moderate" category on Saturday morning and was recorded at 133 (moderate) at 9 am, as compared to the 24-hour average AQI of 128 (moderate) recorded at 4 pm on Friday, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor", and 401-500 "severe".
