Mumbai is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers towards the evening or night on Thursday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather department has also warned that heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail in the suburbs. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Mumbai records ‘good' air quality

Meanwhile, Mumbai's air quality remained in the ‘good' category on Thursday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board's Sameer App, the city recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 47, indicating minimal health impact.

Air quality in MMR region

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Thane recorded an AQI of 57, while Navi Mumbai registered an AQI of 55, both remaining within the satisfactory air quality category.

Maharashtra weather update: Malegaon records highest temperature at 43.2 degrees Celsius

Several parts of Maharashtra continued to experience hot and humid weather conditions today, according to the latest weather report issued at 8.30 am.

Malegaon, Jalgaon among hottest places in Maharashtra

Malegaon recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 43.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Jalgaon at 42.6 degrees Celsius and Parbhani at 41.2 degrees Celsius.

Aurangabad and Beed also remained hot, recording maximum temperatures of 39.6 degrees Celsius and 39.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

Mumbai continues to witness humid weather

In Mumbai, the Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, while Santacruz registered 35.1 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures in the city remained high, with Colaba recording 28.3 degrees Celsius and Santacruz touching 29.2 degrees Celsius, indicating continued humid conditions.

Coastal Maharashtra records warm conditions

Coastal regions also witnessed warm weather, with Dahanu recording 37.4 degrees Celsius, Ratnagiri 36.3 degrees Celsius and Alibag 36 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels remained elevated across several locations, including Kolhapur, Mahabaleshwar and Mumbai.

Mahabaleshwar remains coolest in the state

Among cooler regions, Mahabaleshwar recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 28.8 degrees Celsius, while Jeur registered the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 21 degrees Celsius.

Summer conditions persist across major cities

Other major cities such as Nashik, Satara, Sangli and Solapur recorded temperatures between 36 degrees Celsius and 37.9 degrees Celsius, reflecting prevailing summer conditions across Maharashtra.
