PM Modi was likely to attend the ‘Hind Di Chadar' event in Navi Mumbai city of Maharashtra, officials said.

The city has been preparing for a large two-day event which is scheduled from February 28 to March 1, 2026 at Corporate Park in Sector 29 of Kharghar area in Navi Mumbai.

The state's Ministry of Information and Public Relations said that arrangement were being made for the coverage of the event including PM Modi's Navi Mumbai visit.

Hind Di Chadar' event is being held as part of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur' 350th Shaheedi Samaroh centenary celebrations.

Navi Mumbai has been gearing up to host the ‘Hind Di Chadar' event, with nearly 15 lakh devotees expected to attend, officials had earlier told the PTI.

The venue at Owe Maidan, Kharghar can accommodate around five lakh people at a time, including seating for 80,000 in the main pavilion, which is in its final stage of construction and expected to be ready within five days, according to the Konkan Divisional Commissioner's Office.

Navi Mumbai gears up for ‘Hind Di Chadar' event

The authorities have planned a special traffic management system to handle the expected crowd. Thirty designated parking sites have been set up and a temporary bridge at Kopra is under construction to aid vehicle movement.

Officials said that a dedicated pedestrian pathway will connect ST bus drop-off points to the main venue.

Coordination is ongoing with district administration, police, and JN Port Authority officials to manage the roughly 25,000 heavy vehicles passing through the area daily, according to the PTI.

Arrangements

The officials had earlier stated that security will be strict at the venue and parts of Navi Mumbai during the event, with CCTV surveillance across the venue, a central control room, volunteers will be deployed to assist attendees, heavy police deployment has also been planned in parts of the city and at the venue.

According to the PTI, the health department has also prepared extensively with five temporary medical centres and one ICU at the venue, 350 hospital beds, including 75 ICU beds, reserved nearby, ambulances and first-aid centres on standby and 2,159 health camps organised in rural areas ahead of the event.

The news agency reported that the organisers have also ensured an adequate sanitation, water supply, electricity, and lighting.

"Langar (community meal) services for approximately 2.5 lakh people, with separate facilities for 12,500 individuals," officials said, as per the PTI.

They said that all arrangements aim to ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable experience for the large number of devotees attending the historic celebration.
