Mumbai police need to be strengthened to avert any further terror attacks in the metropolis, former Commissioner of Police MN Singh said here.
"Mumbai police are not well-equipped to fight terrorists. The department needs to be strengthened and sophisticated weapons should be made available to them as early as possible," Singh said at a public forum organised by Rajasthani Mahila Mandal, a city-based charitable organisation, in central Mumbai.
"The government should increase the budget to enhance the internal security. It should provide sophisticated arms, fill up vacant posts on a priority basis," he said.
