Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said on Saturday that the party will protest at Hanuman temple in Mumbai's Dadar area on Sunday.

Raut said the protest is against alleged irregularities and misuse of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Allegations of misappropriation

Raut claimed that there have been allegations of theft involving ornaments of Lord Ram, Sita Mata, and temple donations. He said the issue raises serious questions about the management of the temple trust.

He also called for an FIR to be registered against the entire Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and demanded that the trust be dismissed, reported the news agency.

Political attack on BJP and RSS

Launching a sharp attack on the BJP and RSS, Raut alleged that people linked to the ruling party have influence over several temples and are misusing religious institutions, as per the news agency.

He said temples such as Mahakal and Kedarnath were also being controlled by people connected to the BJP, accusing them of exploiting religion for political gains.

RSS response and appeal for restraint

The RSS has urged the Hindu community to remain calm and not be misled by what it described as attempts to defame religion and society over the Ram Temple donation issue. RSS leaders have appealed for restraint while the matter is being discussed publicly.

Background reference to Ram Mandir movement

Raut also referred to the long-standing Ram Temple movement, saying it involved significant public participation and sacrifices over the years, reported the news agency.

He claimed that many supporters of the movement had lost their lives during various phases of the agitation, including the communal riots in Mumbai that followed the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.

He added that these historical events continue to hold emotional and political significance for many people.

According to him, the party's proposed protest is aimed at raising concerns and seeking accountability regarding the management and handling of funds and administration related to the Ram Temple trust, which he said should be properly investigated and clarified.
