One person was injured after a hydraulic crane tilted at an Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) elevated road construction site on the service road near Siddheshwar Talao in Thane West on Thursday, damaging an auto-rickshaw, officials said.

The incident resulted in minor injuries to one passenger travelling in the auto-rickshaw, according to the officials.

The injured passenger was admitted to Lake City Hospital for treatment, sources said.

The auto-rickshaw driver was also taken to the same hospital for medical attention, officials said.

Probe into the incident underway

An MMRDA source said the hydraulic crane tilted and fell onto a barricade at the construction site.

The barricade then fell on the passing auto-rickshaw, injuring the passenger.

"We are investigating the incident. We have been told that the person injured in the incident has not suffered serious injuries," the source said.

The hydraulic crane tilted while the work was underway at the site on the service road near Siddheshwar Talao, sources said.
