A fire broke out early Monday morning at Sonu Auto Parts and Garage in Kopri Cloth Market, Thane East, leaving behind a charred mess of scrap bikes, oil cans, and burnt wiring. The garage, owned by Mohammad Shakeel, went up in flames around 8 AM, with the alert being raised by a local, Ritesh Jadhav. Fortunately, no one was hurt, according to Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell.

The fire drew a swift response from various teams. Fire brigade trucks rolled in alongside a rescue vehicle, a water tanker, and a JCB machine. Officials from the Disaster Management Cell, Kopri police, MSEB, and the local fire station all pitched in to bring things under control. It took them nearly an hour to fully douse the flames.

The damage, however, was significant: six scrap two-wheelers, cupboards, racks, engine oil cans, and the entire electrical setup were reduced to ashes. While the blaze is now under control, what's left behind is a gutted garage and a reminder of how quickly things can go up in smoke.

In a similar case on Monday, a major fire broke out near the skywalk adjacent to the railway tracks at Thane Station, prompting a swift response from the fire brigade and emergency services. The blaze, which caused panic among commuters in the vicinity, has since been brought under control, according to RDMC.

Cooling operations are currently underway to prevent any reignition. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and further details are awaited.

Similarly, on Sunday, a level-I (minor) fire broke out at Kanjurmarg's NG Royal Park Building, located near Gandhi Market on R Deshmukh Marg, officials said, adding that no injuries have been reported.

According to the officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the fire was confined to the electric duct area and the affected section was between the 16th and 18th floors of the 20-storey residential building. Officials said that it was declared a Level-I fire by 12.10 pm and brought under control within half an hour.
