Speaking to mid-day Uddhav said, "Why should I call him, when he claims that he left the party (Shiv Sena) because of me? Moreover, when he didn't listen to Balasaheb, will he listen to me?" He even questioned Raj and his family's absence from the ceremony organised to commemorate the first death anniversary of the late Shiv Sena patriarch Balasaheb Thackeray on November 17, 2013, at Shivaji Park despite them residing in the same area.

mid-day had reported that though Raj's wife Sharmila was seen taking a walk at Shivaji Park on November 17, she did not visit the memorial.
