The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up 200 mobile bathrooms that are supplied water around the clock.

Hundreds of followers of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, affectionately known as Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, converge in Mumbai's Shivaji Park every year on Mahaparinirvan Diwas. 

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar passed away on December 6 and since his passing, on the day, his followers observe Mahaparinirvan Diwas. It holds immense significance for his followers across the nation.

Dadar and Shivaji Park hold historical significance in relation to Dr Ambedkar's life. These places have witnessed several key events associated with his activism and speeches, making them a symbolic site for followers to gather and commemorate Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

Mahaparinirvan Diwas goes beyond a mere remembrance; it symbolises the ongoing influence of Dr Ambedkar's ideas on society. 

The gathering signifies deep reverence and love that people hold for Dr Ambedkar. It serves as a way for his followers to pay their respects, offer tributes, and remember his teachings, which remain influential in advocating for social equality and justice.

It also demonstrates the unity and solidarity among those who continue to be inspired by his vision. It reflects a shared commitment towards upholding his values and principles.
