High tides such as this are not unusual for Mumbai during the monsoon, but they often disrupt daily life, flooding low-lying areas and leaving residents and businesses on alert

The Mumbai Police and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued advisories warning people against venturing near the water during high tide, emphasising safety precautions, especially as the monsoon progresses

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a rainy and stormy week across several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai and its nearby districts

According to the recent weather report, a yellow alert has been issued in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region on Tuesday. These regions will experience thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds around 50-60 kmph at isolated places

The IMD has issued an orange alert for Chandrapur and Gadchiroli in Vidarbha, while yellow alerts are in place for several other areas, including Pune, Satara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia
