The train was heading towards Gandhinagar from Gugus in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district derailed at Amalner, some 350 kilometres from Mumbai, at 2:18 pm, a Western Railway official said

"There is no report of any casualty," he said

The crew members of the goods train were safe and senior officials were at the site along with accident relief trains (ARTs) from Udhana, Bhusawal and Nandurbar, the official said

Restoration work was underway and all efforts were being made to restore operations at the earliest, he said

Both the Down and Up lines of the Nandurbar-Surat route are blocked due to the derailment, official sources said
