The Supermoon created a stunning view above the city’s skyline.

The December full moon is called the Cold Supermoon because it appears during the start of winter in many parts of the world

The term supermoon refers to a full moon that occurs when the Moon reaches or comes very close to perigee, the closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit

While Mumbai does not experience extremely cold temperatures, the name is used internationally and marks an important point in the lunar calendar

The Moon appeared slightly larger and significantly brighter—up to 30 pct more luminous than a typical full moon. Experts reportedly suggest this is because the Moon reaches comes very close to perigee
