The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued an orange alert for parts of western Maharashtra

Mumbai, however, experienced intermittent spells of intense rainfall

According to civic officials, the IMD has forecast "cloudy sky with possibility of moderate to heavy rain at isolated places" for Mumbai city and its suburbs

Civic officials reported that in the 24 hours, Mumbai's island city, eastern suburbs, and western suburbs received average rainfall of 65.69 mm, 48.87 mm, and 61.90 mm, respectively

The IMD issued an orange alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts, and ghat areas of Satara and Kolhapur
