Between 8:00 AM on July 27th and 8:00 AM on July 28th, rainfall measurements showed a varied pattern across Mumbai
The eastern suburbs experienced significantly more rainfall at 24.86 mm, while the western suburbs recorded 7.15 mm
Meanwhile, several Indian states are currently experiencing deficient rainfall, as they've received between 20 percent to 59 percent less rain than normal. These states include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Lakshadweep
In May, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that India would likely receive 106 percent of the Long Period Average (LPA) rainfall, which is 87 cm, during the June-September monsoon season
According to IMD rainfall between 96 and 104 per cent of this 50-year average is considered 'normal'
