Huge crowds of devotees visited the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai for ziyarat (pilgrimage and prayers), making it one of the largest gatherings at the shrine this year, the Haji Ali Dargah Trust said on Sunday. Pics/Shadab Khan

The Haji Ali Dargah Trust has made extensive preparations to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all the visitors reaching the dargah, the trust said

It said that with proper planning and coordination, the trust has deployed -- 200 dedicated volunteers to guide and assist devotees

25 trained swimmers stationed for safety near the sea, the trust said

78 CCTV cameras for constant surveillance and public announcement systems to provide important updates and directions to the devotees has been installed for smooth functioning to manage crowds

Thousands of people, including families and visitors from other cities, came to offer prayers and seek blessings at the revered shrine of Haji Ali, located on an islet off the coast in Mumbai
