Though education board assures fee will be reduced, dissatisfied parents continue strike

Eight hours after parents of a few Rosary school students went on a hunger strike to protest the fee hike, education board officials said they would tell the school to reduce the fee to a reasonable amount.

MiD Day first reported about the hike and has consistently followed up the issue.

"We decided that the fee amount should be reduced," said Balchandra Bhesle, director of education, Pune.u00a0

However, parents on hunger strike refused to give up. "They haven't given us a clear structure of how much the amount would be reduced and thirdly, the school hasn't yet accepted that it will reduce fees," said Nilesh Mahajan, one of the protesting parents.

The Other Side
School administrator Balan, however, said "Nobody has intimated us about the deputy director's decision."
