Amit Shah lashes out at NCP chief Sharad Pawar

During Thursday's visit to the city to speak to local party workers, BJP national president, Amit Shah lashed out at the Congress-NCP government, particularly NCP chief, Sharad Pawar.

"NCP chief Sharad Pawar has institutionalised corruption in Maharashtra. Corruption is Pawar's business, and due to him, the state's head is hanging in shame," said Shah.

"The smaller neighbouring states like Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh have been developing well since the last few years. However, Maharashtra is going from bad to worse."

It is worth noting that all four states lauded by Shah for their development rates are BJP strongholds.

Shah added that the nation was developing fast under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that he hoped that Maharashtra would soon contribute more towards national growth as well.

The BJP chief also attempted to address the questions that opposition parties had been raising lately, about PM Modi and BJP's accomplishments in the first 100 days of government.

"The type of work that the BJP government has done in last 100 days cannot even be imagined by the opposition parties," he said.

As a closing note, he urged the party workers to pull up their sock for the approaching state assembly elections, without spending too much thought on who would be the next Chief Minister.
