The owner, Madhuri Hingorani operated it from a residential complex, which led to residents complaining of increased customer activity. Residents allege that she threatened them when they objected
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials sealed a spa on Tuesday that was running commercial activities from a residential apartment. Madhuri Hingorani, the owner of the spa, and socialite, has been accused of not only breaking open the seal, but also threatening the residents when they objected.
Vinay Naresh Kamath, resident of Eden Hall Apartments on Jayamahal extension has filed a complaint with the JC Nagar police. In his complaint, Kamath has sought police protection after Higorani threatened him with dire consequences.
Kamath said that Hingorani was operating Energie Inc, the spa in the residential complex, and offered course such as grooming, etiquette perfection, business communication, crystal healing, yoga, reiki and hypnotherapy.
Residents objected to the increasing number of clients to the spa and complained to the association, who in turn informed Hingorani.
The association later complained to the BBMP after Hingorani failed to respond to the complaints. As a result, the spa was sealed by the BBMP on Tuesday.
JC Nagar police inspector, Tanveer Ahmed refused to comment on this issue. He denied having received any complaint against Hingorani and added that the BBMP were the authority to comment on this issue.
Even the complainant Vinay Naresh Kamath is tightlipped stating that he does not know anything about the issue. Ironically Kamath himself is the complaint to the JC Nagar police (complaint number 10185/10) filed on Tuesday seeking police protection.
Hingorani said that it's was a personal issue with the complainant and does not want to comment.
"The residents might have complained against me for safety reasons. I will handle this on a private level," she said.
