A medical student of a city medical college has filed a harassment case against her classmate at DJ Halli police station.
The girl, who is in her sixth semester, has accused the boy of pestering her for marriage.
According to girl, she got acquainted to Chetan like any other classmate. "We used to hangout together. He began showering me with expensive gifts and initially I thought it was just a friendly gesture.
But he started forcing me to accept his gifts and instructed me to talk to him everyday," she said.
Marry me or else...
"This made me feel uneasy and I asked him to keep away, for which he threatened me of dire consequences. He said he would commit suicide and implicate me if I did not marry him," she said in her complaint.
"His behaviour has caused me immense mental strain. I want to complete my course and lead a decent life," she bemoaned.
An officer from the DJ Halli police station that has taken up the case said, "Despite counselling and repeated warnings, he continued to harass her. Left with no option, we had to book him."
