Congress candidate for Bangalore (South) Krishna Byre Gowda has been booked for violating the election code of conduct he overshot his campaigning by 30 minutes.
Tilak Nagaru00a0 police have booked a case against Gowda, based on a complaint filed by the election watch officer.
Gowda was allowed to campaign in Tilak Nagar from 4 pm to 9 pm but continued till 9.30.u00a0 The officers recorded the whole programme and submitted it to the police for investigations.

Code of conduct
According to the Election Commission's (EC) code of conduct, it is mandatory for candidates to get prior permission from the authorities concernedu00a0 for any election campaign, giving them information on the time, date and place.u00a0
The chief election commission or the authority concerned will decide on the quantum of punishment for any violation after investigating the matter.
