The Monsoon Project wants to see the city through your eyes. Shoot at sight and send your photographs to win a free trip to ParisTheu00a0Monsoon Project is the latest initiative by Alliance Fran aise de Bombay to rid you of those lazy rainy morning blues. A photography contest organised by the foundation around the theme of Plan te Femmes or Women's World seeks to showcase the city's perception of women.
Ga lle Joly, Assistant Cultural Coordinator, isn't sure what to expect, but she is excited about the contest. "We want to know what inspires people, be it a Bollywood star or a fisherwoman on the street. Mumbai has so many influences, so we hope to have a wide variety (of photographs) at the exhibition," she says. Joly will judge the contest with Matthieu Foss of the Matthieu Foss Gallery. Twenty-five images will be displayed at the Attic's Colaba outlet, and the winner's work will be exhibited in a French gallery and published in Courrier International, a French newspaper.
Each contestant must register at the Alliance Fran aise. Participants are invited to provide two photographs by August 19, the last day for entries. The contest is free and open to candidates of all ages, but they must not be professional photographers.
