Anil Sharma, who was arrested for murder of his wife, Delhi police SI Vipin Bala Sharma, had tried to kill her earlier also, a few months ago.
Sources said that sometime back, Anil and Bala had an altercation after which he tried to strangulate her but she escaped. "Bala was Anil's second wife.
She had met him the first time after Anil had allegedly murdered his first brother-in-law, Deshraj and was out on a bail. Both fell in love and decided to get married in 1992. Bala did not have any children from Anil. The two sons who are living with Anil were Bala's stepsons," said a police source.
The source further added that Anil had not divorced his first wife. He had been living in Sunlight Colony area for last 12 years.
