BJP MLA Pratibha Singh's son is arrested from allegedly firing at five Congressmen during a campaign in Jabalpur district of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh


Mathura: BJP MLA Pratibha Singh's son was arrested from here today for allegedly firing at five Congressmen during a campaign in Jabalpur district of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh three days back.

Acting on a tip off, a special team of Uttar Pradesh police nabbed Golu Singh, son of the BJP MLA from Bargi constituency, along with his five accomplices from Golden Temple Express enroute Jabalpur from Delhi, police said.

Golu has been handed over to Madhya Pradesh police. The five Congressmen were injured on April 7 when Golu opened fire at them while campaigning at Mankhedi village under the Jabalpur Lok Sabha seat following a dispute.

Golu, who has a criminal record, had fired at Congressmen identified as Durjan Patel, Abhay Pratap, Nilesh Singh, Rakesh Patel and Roopsingh Patel, who suffered injuries.
