WHAT's ON checked out a new coffee shop that lures customers with its menu, quality and sasta prices
If you love hanging out with your pals over a hot cuppa but dread the exorbitant prices charged by branded coffee outlets, then Sai Ba - The Coffee Shop could fit the bill, literally.
Ambience: The place is abuzz with students chit-chatting, enjoying their favourite drink and generally having a good time. The shop has an outdoor area as well, done up with colourful umbrellas, under which are small white plastic tables and grey stools. The inside walls are cream-coloured and adorned with interesting pictures of coffee mugs. The kitchen area is named The Coffee Bar and is done up in orange. The whole space looks spic and span and you can see coffee being made right in front of your eyes.
Range: If you want to go for hot coffee, you can choose from the Cappuccino (Rs 16), Cafu00c3u0083u00c2u00a9 Mocha (Rs 20) or Cafu00c3u0083u00c2u00a9 Latte (Rs 20). If you are in the mood for something cold, try out the ice cream blended Cafu00c3u0083u00c2u00a9 Frappe (Rs 32), the Coffee Shake (Rs 32), Amazingly Caramello (Rs 36) or the Ice Latte (Rs 32). They also have smoothies for you in three flavours Mango, Orange and Strawberry, priced at Rs 26. You can also try the Veg Sandwich (Rs 23), Cheese Grill (Rs 32) or the Paneer Chaat (Rs 32).
We liked: The Choco Frappe (Rs 32) and Amazingly Blast (Rs 36) are must-haves. They are served in conical glasses with chocolate sauce sprayed on the sides. The base for both includes milk, coffee and ice cream blended together. The Choco Frappe was topped with a layer of finely grated chocolate and garnished with chocolate sauce. Amazingly Blast had a topping of whipped cream, mixed with vanilla essence and sprinkled with choco chips.
