Fake ED officers held for robbery

The Kalasipalya police have arrested two conmen and a driver with a travel company for robbery.

According to the police, Joni MP, one of the accused, who is working as a bus driver in the same travel company, hatched a plan to rob since he used to hand over hard cash to the company.

The two accused, posing as Enforcement Directorate officials, abducted Shaji, manager of Golden Travels in Kalasipalya, and took away Rs 3.3 lakh and abducted him on the pretext of investigations.

The accused took Shaji into various places and finally dumped him on Cunningham Road and fled the scene.

The police found that the duo, Shivdas and Joobi Thomas, were habitual offenders involved in several criminal cases both in Bangalore and Kerala.
