New Delhi: At least two members of a family, a man and his daughter, died on Friday morning after the family consumed poison here, police said. The wife of the man was admitted to a hospital in critical condition.
Bhagwan Dass, 50, and Sarita, 20, died in Khera Dabar area, in south Delhi, while his wife Sharda, 48, was admitted to Rao Tula Ram hospital, the police said.
"A call was received at 7.16 a.m. regarding suicide," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Surender Kumar said.
Bhagwan Dass, a retired government official, and Sarita were declared brought dead by the doctors, the officer said.
According to the police, the family was depressed after their son Kuldeep, who was studying MBBS in Russia, died 15 days ago following a heart attack.
