Six boys lost their lives when the driver of their car lost control and collided into a divider on the Vasai-Bhiwandi road and was hit by a truck from the opposite direction

A night of dance and making merry during Navratri turned horribly wrong for seven youth who met with an accident on the Vasai-Bhiwandi road. Six of the car's occupants died when the car lost control and rammed into the divider and hit a tempo from the opposite side while one still struggles to live in a hospital.

The occupants of the car all aged between 17 and 27 had decided to visit a garba mandal on Tuesday night in Vasai. After dancing and having fun, the youths were returning home at 2 am on Wednesday. They were speeding on the Vasai-Bhiwandi road near Nagle village when the driver of the car lost control, skidded and hit the divider. After hitting the divider, it was then hit by a tempo from the opposite side.

Wrecked: The car's occupants were returning home from a garba mandal in Vasai when they met with the accident. Locals alleged the bad road conditions may have caused the mishap

The deceased were later identified as Kashinath Patil (17), Devendra Tangdi (19), Ashish Tangdi (19), Yadnesh Deolikar (19), Kundan Raikar (25) and Vaibhav B Raikar (27). Only one survivor is currently admitted in hospital and is in very critical condition.
