It's hard to beat West Bengal when it comes to Durga Puja but trust us, Delhi and the NCR has its own share dancing, sweets and gaiety when it comes to celebrating the festival. We bring you some of the best celebrations where you can seek the blessings of this lion riding divine force. Our only piece of advice have loads of fun and yes, do carry some kind of ID just to be safe when you get back home during the wee hours of the morning.

Glitz and Razzmatazz
The Durgabari Society Greater Kailash I, comes up with a four day event each year. This time they are also celebrating their golden jubilee. For this, they have specially focused on pandal decoration that will wear lighted imageries from Chandan Nagar in West Bengal. Kinsfolk II, a quiz contest is also an added attraction. Bengali TV and film actor, Sabyasachi (Parineeta, Dil) will be presenting a show. A special edition of the book "The Golden Years" that contains the nostalgic accounts of several residents on Durga Pujas will be released."

Heart of Bengal
This mini Bengal in the capitalu00a0 believes in leaving no stone unturnedu00a0 when it comes to puja celebrations. Though this year due to security concerns things might be a little subdued but you can still have your share of the fun. You can choose from a number of places like B Block, Shiv Mandir, Co-operative Ground, Mela Ground, and Navapalli (Pocket 40). Celebrations are also held in Chittaranjan Bhawan and Bipin Pal Bhawan, which showcase Bengali plays and music. The week long celebrations see performances by artistes and troupes from West Bengal and Bangladesh. Around five lakh visitors are expected here this year.

The schedule is power-packed here and you must drop in here if you don't want to miss out on puja fever. For Maha Saptami the children of Safdarjung Enclave will present a group dance, a must watch for those with little kids of their own.u00a0 Followed by a performance of Bengali singer Rathijeet and his orchestra from Kolkata. On the next day you can join in theu00a0 Matribandana, which will be lead by the Rini Mukherjee and her group.u00a0 On the final Maha Navami day there will be a Durga ballet choreographed by Rekha Mehra, Kathak by Abhimanyu Lal and the grand finale is by singer Saptak Bhattacharya of Mumbai.

Ode to Tagore
This year the theme of the celebrations at Mayur Vihar 1- Extensionu00a0 is Rabindrik, a tribute to Rabindra Nath Tagore. The programmes hereu00a0 range from magic shows to Bangla folk bands. The magician in question is Sabyasachai, also known as Prince of Magic in Kolkata. Bangla folk band Mahul will strum some melodic tunes and a special dance drama called Eternal Canvas by Sur-O-Nattayam. The other programmes include Rabindra Sangeet by Chaitali Majumdar and group and a dance performance by Mohini Group directed by Sulagna Roy.
