State Information director N R Vishukumar gets a punishment transfer after he allows star Sudeep more time on stage at Awards function than CM

State Information director N R Vishukumar has been transferred for allowing actor Sudeep to hog the limelight at a film award function held in the CM's home district Shimoga last month.

An order issued on the midnight of April 27 made Vishukumar the managing director of Kanteerava Studios, a government-owned property that has been struggling for want of business.

Kannada actor Sudeep is believed to be lobbying for a Congress ticket to contest the next parliamentary polls from Shimoga, which is currently represented by Yeddyurappa's son BY Raghavendra.

At the award function attended by Yeddyurappa, Ragahavendra andu00a0 BJP state president K S Eswarappa, every speaker was given two minutes to speak. Sudeep got 10 minutes.

"Earlier, when the had CM sought details of opposition leaders involved in various scams during a special Assembly session, he had passed on some press cuttings. The CM was understandably very upset," said a source from the BJP.

"Although it is demotivating it does not make any difference to me. I am a government officer.

I am ready to serve the studios," said Vishukumar, who was at the same position at Kanteerava Studios five years ago, when he had turned the bleeding studio into a profit-making business.

"It is one more opportunity to bring the studio back on its feet," he said. Sudeep remained unavailable for comment.
