Maharashtra Director General of Police S S Virk said that SRPF sub-inspector Manohar Kadam, who was recently convicted in the Ramabai Nagar firing incident, has become the lone victim of the system.
"It is his bad luck that he alone has become a victim," said Virk while interacting with the media in the city yesterday.
However, Virk refused to elaborate on his comment.u00a0 Kadam was sentenced a lifer in a firing case on a Dalit mob protesting the desecration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue 12 years ago in the Ramabai Nagar area in Mumbai. The police chief also explained the steps that had been taken post 26/11 to augment security apparatus, including procurement of modern arms and equipment for the specially set up Force-One unit to combat terrorism.

He said, "The police should assume a proactive role in defusing social tensions that are on rise in the state in recent years.
