Four style bloggers whose write-ups are followed closely, for their chic tips and tricks, have taken pity on our wardrobes that are beginning to bear close resemblance to our grandmom's.

To save us from embarrassing incidents that occur ever so often, the girls have organised a yard sale, where they will donate some truly fab clothing from their closets ('vintage', as they prefer calling these) along with a few brand new pieces on sale.

"I was cleaning my wardrobe and realised that there are quite a few clothes I had never worn or had grown out of," says Dhruvi Shah who runs a fashion and film blog called Alice Wandering. Dhruvi then got in touch with Aastha Atray, a journalist who maintains a blog called Indian Summer, which is specially directed towards fashion for curvy women. Samidha Sharma and Karishma Rajani soon joined in to make this a fantastic four event.

From the Rabbit Hole, as the sale's quirky name reads, will have clothes, trinkets, shoes, bags, accessories and hard-to-find fashion magazines, all costing between Rs 10 and Rs 1,000. Log on to their Facebook page for a peek into some of the stuff (we have our eyes on Dhruvi's Zara tunic, sold at Rs 900 and Samidha's retro dress with printed hearts for a fab price of Rs 700).

These amateur style gurus would be more than happy to give you pointers on how to wear your fab buys or how to accessorise them. Our suggestion? You will never be able to get those gorgeous unworn Aldo wedges that Aastha owns for just Rs 1,000. Run before it's too late.

Buy a basketful of yummies

'Tis the season to be jolly. But if you aren't quite going fa-la-la-la-la because you have no clue what to gift your loved ones, head to Palladium where Chenab Impex has put together hampers containing exotic foods that include olive oil, Thai products like coconut cream and Tom Yum chilli paste, shortbread and other goodies. Today, till 8.30 pm, a chef will demonstrate how to whip up Italian, Thai and Indian dishes using olive oil.

The first five winners will also get to drive alongside the horses in a special patrol car and be witness to 60 km/hour of raw horsepower. The Guide has vague but fond memories of the time it boarded an open air bus and hopped from one bar to another, tanking up for good measure at each pit stop. Big Mojo Entertainment (we knew them earlier as Best of Bombay) is back with its new season of bar crawls that will take you across three of Colaba's bars: HQ's, Soul Fry Casa and Oba.

You get to gulp down a vodka or whiskey at each of the bars, accompanied with loads of fun stuff to do, including games, karaoke, music and contests. But the best bit is that you travel from one bar to the other in an open-air bus, so you don't need to walk tipsy in your precious wedges. If you bring your car along, a driver will drop you home in your car (for free if there are four or more people in the car; or for Rs 250).

Ban the tax, play it loud again
On Today and tomorrow, 10 pm
Where Carter Road, Bandra.

Budding musicians are doing what they do best to protest against the Government's decision to implement heavy entertainment taxes -- play music. The amendment to the Bombay Entertainment Duty Act, 1923, has restaurateurs in a fix: they are contemplating shutting shop if the new tax implement, which requires them to pay Rs 1-2 lakh a month for live performances, is not scrapped.

Organised by upcoming talent who make up 'It Started Like This' (Fay Barretto and Trevor Munroe) along with Dream Makers -- Project 9 and Urban Ink Project, have organised a gig -- Scream to Dream -- with a line-up of budding musicians who will play music under the open skies, aided by visual artists. Freedom is not free -- be there if you believe music should be about love and peace.
