NCP leader and former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar will be re-inducted in the Maharashtra cabinet on Friday.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar will rejoin the Maharashtra cabinet as deputy chief minister on Friday, days after he got a clean chit in the alleged irrigation scam in the state.

Pawar will be sworn-in 9.30 a.m. on Friday by Governor K. Sankaranarayanan, a top Raj Bhavan official told IANS.

Pawar, nephew of NCP chief Sharad Pawar, had quit the cabinet in a huff on September 25 over allegations of a massive scam in the irrigation sector.

The 800-plus page white paper on the alleged irrigation scam in Maharashtra released by the state government last week has given Ajit Pawar a clean chit.u00a0
