Manager had thrashed a security guard; sent in 14-day judicial custody
The Gurgaon police have arrested the manager of a pub for beating up a security guard. According to the police, the guard had requested the manager to close the pub as it was running beyond the stipulated time.

The incident occurred at the Prison Bar situated inside the Sahara Mall Gurgaon at early Monday morning. The manager, Lalit, was produced before a local court and has been sent in 14-day judicial custody.
The security guard Manoj had registered an FIR against Lalit at the Sector 29 police station."The bar was open till 3am. As it is not permitted, I asked Lalit to close the pub. He argued with me and started beating me. I later informed the police," said Manoj, in his complaint to the police.
A senior police official pointed out that pub brawls have reported an increase in the satellite city as they are allowed to remain open till late night.
"The excise department needs to check such instances where pub owners keep their premises open beyond the permissible time limit. We have written to the department in this regard," the officer said.
