The Blue House Effect is a college rock band that breathes music. "What started as a mere hobby, slowly and steadily snowballed into a passion, and then a definite obsession," said Arnav Saha, the vocalist of the band.
The official band of Rajashri Shaw College of Engineering, the Blue House Effect was formed six years ago. The current members of the band are vocalist Arnav Saha (21) Rakesh Sonar (23) on the drums, Praveen Sanpet (21) on the bass, Shiren Bhalekar (19) on the lead guitar, and Harsh Malewar (19), for the rhythm guitar.
"The band already existed, we are its current members. We just don't consider it as a college band formed as part of an extra-curricular activity. It's much more to us," said Saha.
The band mostly plays covers of famous rock bands like Nirvana, Metallica, and more. It has participated in Youthopia ufffd an inter-college rock band competition in the city ufffd and has bagged the second position for the last two years.
"Playing before a live audience is a confidence-booster for us," said Saha. "Our ultimate dream is to cut an album of our own soon."
