The Crime Branch arrested nine people, including main accused Nilesh Ghaiwal's brother Sachin, for assaulting Pappu Kudale of the Marne gang and his brother Sachin on Sunday night.
Sachin Kudale was killed in the Sunday shootout.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Anant Shinde said stringent action will be taken against warring factions of the Marne and the Ghaiwal gangs.
On the cancellation of Nilesh Ghaiwal's externment order, DCP Anil Kumbhre said: "The Home Secretary has quasi-judicial powers to cancel the externment order based on the merits of the case."
PI Suresh Kekane (Crime Branch Zone 2) said: "Nine were arrested in connection with the shootout from Kothrud area on Sunday night."
The nine arrested are Yogesh Sambre (28), Vikrant Kokate (26), Umesh Kirve (30), Nilesh Sharma (23), Sanjay Sokat (27), Santosh Dhmual (27), Sachin Ghiwal (32), Ujjwal Chaudhari (30), Ramesh Raut (25). All the nine were arrested late on Sunday night. Produced in court, they were remanded in police custody till Saturday.
