Bored already? Have no clue what to do, as the air resounds a lull? Who said all the fun is over? It has just begun. Kyra promises to keep you enthralled all this week with a fabulous set of performances that have chosen to meet the city's diverse tastes...

January 19

Blues before Sunrise
They are an energetic, young band from our very own garden city. Playing essentially the blues, the band, however, does not restrict their sound to any particular genre. They are ready to give the city a bright new playlist featuring covers of artistes like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, The Doors, Queen, John Mayer and more. The band features Sidharth Gopalan on guitar, harp and vocals, Sris Chander on guitar, Amit Barde on drums, Sheela Sequeria on vocals, Sammy J David on bass and Rahul Gopalan on vocals. Do catch them live in performance.

January 20
Rajeev and Rebels
If you are someone, who loves a blend of blues, folk and world music infused rock then this is the group for you. They band will play some original compositions as well as some covers like U2, Cat Stevens and more. However, this time they will present a three-piece acoustic instead of five pieces to add a different dimension to their normal sound. The band says that performing at Kyra is always different from performing on stage and is a 'lovely experience'. "It is always a little different playing here, as Kyra is kind of intimate," says Rajeev. "You get a chance to interact with the audience more intimately." The band comprises Rajeev on vocals, Satchith Paulose on guitars, Anand Mahadevan on bass, Wilfred Demoz on drums and Uday Jose on keyboards. We're looking forward to this one as much as you.

January 21
Pan
They have been here, done it and yet you want more of them. Be it reggae, light music or commercial music, the band is here to play it all. Originally from Bangalore, Paul Santiago and his companion Nick Almenor are here to give you the traditional sound of the samba and calypso, the exciting Spanish rumba, the sensual rhythms from Latin America and much much more. Watch them as they play indigenous instruments like the steel pan used in World War II, the Spanish guitar and more. "I am looking forward to performing in Bangalore. It will be nice to play before upcoming young musicians and encourage them to take up music as a profession," says Paul Santiago.

January 22
Xylopholks
They will walk around in bright animal costumes and sing to you the most amazing tunes, you've ever heard. If you believe that they can't, then catch this troupe from New York do exactly this. Relish the music and enjoy the evening as the band mixes the sounds of the Xylophone and the upright bass guitars.

January 23
Prem Joshua and Friends
Here is chance to see the east meet the west. Catch the band as they play western classical music with an Indian touch using instruments like the tabla, sitar and flute. The group will be playing both new and old songs. The songs deliver a fusion of western thoughts and Indian sound and this will be the first time that they perform at Kyra. "Music is all about atmosphere and such atmosphere makes a beautiful evening," says Chintan Relenberg of Prem Joshua and Friends.
