Tejashri, a three-year-old, died after she fell from her 5th floor apartment at Mantri apartments, in Sarjapur yesterdayThe incident happened at around 3 pm. Tejashri was rushed to the hospital, but she died on the way. Tejashri lived with her parents and a brother, and a maid took care of her while the parents were away.

The incident
Tejashri, who was playing with her elder brother, climbed the grill of the balcony, and fell to her death, while the maid was busy with chores. After the incident, the maid hastened her to the hospital, but Tejshri died on
the way.
Her parents, IT professionals at CGI, were at work when the incident happened. Police officials confirmed the death and concluded that the accident happened due to horizontal grills, which a child can easily climb. But Tejashri's parents filed the case as an accident.u00a0 The HSR Layout police have handed over the body to them.
Traffic and Building specialist Prof M N Srihari said, "Apartments should have basic security measures and balcony grills should be of 1.5 meters height."
But residents of Mantri apartments told MiD Day that all the apartments have followed safety measures, no such incident has happened before.
