One of the organisations says Thane, Goa and Bhiwandi next
The senders of these letters seems to have chosen red ink on purpose, as if to establish a connection with Valentine Day's Eve and the German Bakery blood bath. Commissioner of Police Satyapal Singh said the police had received two handwritten letters claiming responsibility for the bomb blast at German Bakery on February 13.
Addressed to the Commissioner of Police, the letters were sent by organisations calling themselves SIMI International and Mujahideen Islam Muslim Front. The letters came by post, with postal stamps that were blurred.
According to Singh, the letters were handwritten in Urdu and Hindi on both sides of an A4-size paper.
Singh said the organization calling itself SIMI International claimed that Thane, Goa and Bhivandi were their strongholds.
The toll in the blast went up to 16 yesterday with the death of a student from Sudan.
