AIADMK leader and famous Tamil actor SS Chandran died of a heart attack in Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur district on Friday night, party officials said on Saturday.
Chandran, 69, had addressed a public meeting on Friday night at Muthupettai in Tiruvarur district and then went to Mannargudi, where he was supposed to address a public meeting. But in the night, Chandran complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Chandran, who had acted in more than 700 films, had also been a Rajya Sabha member. He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.
