All quiet at city home of Kalmadi aide raided in Delhi

As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials raided the office and home of Sangeeta Welingkar, a close aide of city MP Suresh Kalmadi and the additional director general (image and look) of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010, her residence at Aundh in Pune was calm and quiet


Asu00a0the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials raided the office and home of Sangeeta Welingkar, a close aide of city MP Suresh Kalmadi and the additional director general (image and look) of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010, her residence at Aundh in Pune was calm and quiet.

The Welingkar family ufffd Sangeeta, her husband Waman and son Uddhav ufffd lives in the Garden Estate Society on Nagras Road in Aundh. Neighbours, too, were unaware of the raids being carried out at the Welingkars' Delhi residence. Sangeeta is the daughter of former badminton champion Nandu Natekar and sister of Davis Cupper Gaurav Natekar.

The CBI officials carried out searches on 11 premises in the National Capital Region, including on joint director general (coordination) R K Sacheti.

"Sangeeta Welingkar was in the core organising committee (OC) and worked with Kalmadi during the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune as coordinator of the games," said a source. "She draws a salary of Rs 1.31 lakh per month."
