Patna: A BJP worker, Avinash Kumar was shot dead in Bihar's capital on Thursday morning, triggering protests by his party leaders including legislators here, police said.

According to local police, Kumar was shot dead when he was on his way to a tea shop near a temple in Salimpur Ahra locality here.

With the Bihar assembly polls round the corner, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including local legislator Nitin Navin, have linked the incident to the deteriorating state of law and order in Patna and across the state.
