A 40-year-old real estate businessman was murdered last night around 11.30 pm at Govindappa Lane in Banaswadi.
Maruthi, a resident of Ramaswami Palya, had his business spread over in KR Puram and Bharatinagar areas.
Maruthi was with his friend Kumar in a vehicle when the incident took place. Sources say that he was attacked with a sharp weapon, and had multiple stab wounds.

Kumar, on the other hand is missing. This is the second murder of a real estate businessman in the past two months.
Senior police officers, who visited the spot, told MiD DAY that investigations were on. "We suspect that the murder could be a result of some business rivalry," said ACP N Narasimhaiah.
Inspector NB Sakri, Banaswadi police station,u00a0 added, "Maruthi had severe injuries on his head and body. If we get Kumar, we will have more details about the murder, and solve the case at the earliest."
"Maruthi's friends suspect Kumaresh, a rowdy history sheeter may have been behind the murder," said Sakri.
