Animal welfare body fears the camels might spread fatal diseases

Police rounded up 43 camels from the city around 2am lastu00a0 night. They are now in Talghatpura police station.

Out of line: There has been a spurt of camels in the city recently


Sunil, convenor of Akhila Karnataka Praani Sangha said, "The Karnataka High Court banned the entry of camels into the state years ago sighting that the climate was not suitable for them and because they spread diseases.

Besides, this being the festive month, I fear they will be sold for their meat."

The owners defend themselves saying they are hereu00a0 just to give everyone a joyride.
