The heaviest security presence can't prevent incidents like these. There was widespread chaos late on Saturday night near the Maurya Sheraton, the 5-star hotel in New Delhi that was to receive Barack Obama and his wife as guests the next evening, after a car went up in flames in the neighbourhood.

A security official posted at the hotel confirmed this news to MiD DAY. He added that everyone breathed a sigh of relief ten minutes later after it was learnt that the vehicle had caught fire accidentally.

Culture call

US First Lady Michelle Obama will get a glimpse of 5,000 years of Indian handicrafts, culture, heritage and civilisation when she visits the National Handicrafts and Handloom Museum Monday morning. She will also be treated to Baul songs and folk performances. According to an official, Michelle is to visit the museum 9-11 a.m.
"We are looking forward to Michelle Obama's visit. She is expected to visit the museum between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m," a senior official of the crafts museum said.
