The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for the second phase of Class 10 board exams, giving students another chance to improve their scores.
This year, CBSE has introduced a new system where Class 10 board exams can be held twice annually. However, the second phase is optional and meant for students who want to improve their performance.
The board stated that this system allows students to "appear for examinations twice in the same academic year," giving them flexibility to improve marks if needed, reported IANS.
According to the official schedule, the exams will be conducted from May 15 to May 21. Most papers will take place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, while a few will end earlier at 12:30 pm.
The exams will begin with Mathematics (Standard and Basic) on May 15, followed by English on May 16. Science is scheduled for May 18 and Social Science will be held on May 21. Language papers including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam and Assamese will be conducted on May 19. Subjects like Painting, Sanskrit, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence are scheduled for May 20.
Apart from core subjects, students will also appear for exams in foreign languages, Home Science, Retail and Tourism, as per the schedule.

CBSE has advised students to complete their preparations in advance and reach exam centres on time. It also reminded candidates that carrying the admit card is mandatory for entry.
The results of the first phase of Class 10 board exams were declared recently, showing stable performance trends.
-Over 55,000 students scored 95 per cent or above
-More than 2.21 lakh students secured 90 per cent or higher
-Out of 24.83 lakh registered students, 24.71 lakh appeared for the exams, and 23.16 lakh passed.
-The overall pass percentage stood at 93.70 per cent, slightly higher than last year.
