Independence rock, India's biggest Rock Festival, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with live action from the best of Indie rock and heavy metal musicians"I'm a stubborn bawa. When you tell me not to do something or that I cannot do something, then I'm going to go out of the way to make it happen," Farhad Wadia declares as he explains to us about what makes him organise Independence Rock, year after year, despite so many ups and downs. Wadia's stubbornness has ensured that India's most iconic Rock festival is celebrating its silver jubilee this year.

This year, the festival moves away from the competition format and brings together some of the best Rock musicians from India.
"The line up includes buddhas (read: old) including Indus Creed, Loy, myself and others and there are young bands like Bhayanak Maut, Scribe and Demonic Resurrection. From the grandfathers to the bachchas of the Indian Rock scene, I-Rock will have them all," says Wadia. These apart, Pralay, a band that performed regularly at the earlier editions of Independence Rock concerts in the '90s, will be making their big-stage comeback at Independence Rock XXV.
Over the years, Wadia has faced many difficulties while putting together the festival. He has ferried the festival through last-minute cancellations and sponsors backing out, to make sure this iconic event has steadily grown into becoming the most important music festival for Rock musicians in India.
"I've always had the support of fans and musicians. For most Rock bands, I-Rock has been their first-ever platform. Many have gone ahead and become big names, after getting a chance to perform on a platform like this," says Wadia.For the love of Rock music, don't miss this one.u00a0
