Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan yesterday said the Right to Information Act (RTI) was a milestone in the history of Indian democracy and had helped root out several irregularities in government functioning. "This has helped improve Indian democracy and we should be proud that our country has remained a democracy even after passing through several tumultuous phases after Independence," Chavan said.
