well. Things would have been fine if Amit had confined himself to watching the matches on the ground or on TV. But with the ongoing IPL season, he thought of making a few quick bucks by cashing in on the craze.

Disguised as an IPL agent, Amit bought tickets in bulk and started selling them in black. Acting on a tip off, the special staff of central district police laid a trap and arrested him red handed on April 10 around 2 pm. The police recovered around twenty-nine tickets and a complimentary pass from his possession.u00a0

During interrogation, Amit confessed to have sold hundreds of tickets in the previous matches after purchasing them online. "Amit would pose as an IPL agent and win the confidence of the people. He would then buy the tickets in bulk and sell them at five times the original price. He wanted to make a quick buck and that's why he got into this trade," said a police official.

The official also added that Amit used to procure the IPL tickets through his Easy Bill franchise and stocked the same well in advance.u00a0 These he would sell at almost three to five times the actual cost of the ticket thereby earning huge profits. He never used his counter for this purpose; rather he sold them near the stadium, as he was aware of the popularity of these matches and the heavy demand for tickets.
