Members and supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continued their protest at Jantar Mantar for the third consecutive day on Monday, pressing for action over alleged examination irregularities and the purported leak of the NEET question paper on May 3.
The protest, which began on Saturday afternoon, remained underway through Sunday night, with demonstrators staying at the site under police supervision. Security personnel continued to be deployed in and around the protest area, while barricades remained in place to regulate movement.
Several volunteers were seen distributing food and drinking water to protesters who stayed at the venue overnight, helping sustain the agitation as organisers vowed to continue their campaign.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced on Sunday that the demonstration would continue into Monday and appealed to farmer organisations and members of the public to support the movement.
According to organisers, the protest has been gathering momentum, with participants raising slogans and attending speeches focused on alleged irregularities in the examination process.
The organisers said the agitation is aimed at demanding accountability from authorities and seeking action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak.
The protest site witnessed a mix of political speeches, slogan-shouting and cultural activities throughout Sunday.
Supporters were seen clapping, playing percussion instruments and singing patriotic songs as part of the demonstration. Organisers claimed that more than 200 people had gathered at the venue by Sunday evening.
The cultural performances were interspersed with speeches highlighting concerns over examination integrity and the impact of alleged paper leaks on students across the country.
Dipke has demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging a lack of accountability in handling the examination controversy.
He has also sought compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the reported paper leak and the subsequent cancellation of the examination.
The CJP has maintained that the concerns raised by students and their families require urgent attention and has called for greater transparency in the conduct of competitive examinations.
On Sunday, Dipke urged authorities not to restrict access to the protest site and requested the restoration of water supply to public restrooms near the venue.
Protesters had alleged disruptions in access to certain basic facilities during the agitation. However, they later stated that the supply of drinking water had been restored.
The CJP has said the protest will continue until its demands are addressed. Organisers also claimed that farmer groups were expected to join the agitation during the day to express solidarity with the protesters.
This is the second protest organised by the party at Jantar Mantar over alleged examination paper leaks and demands for accountability from the government. The demonstration continues under security arrangements as organisers seek broader support for their campaign.
